It's good to see the trend of more opportunities for women in construction. Making positions more attractive to women will continue to draw them into the industry, making it stronger for all.

Women are an integral part of any organization and they should feel like this an industry they can take part in!

Women in construction have come so far in the last twenty years! Being more present on the "dirty" jobs as well as the traditional roles assigned to us has legitimized our ideas, our presence, and enabled us to be taken seriously by our male counterparts more and more in areas like project management and field operations. We still have a long way to go and a lot of work to do. We are so much more than note takers and "the girl who sweeps up" now. I've seen on my own job sites, women finishing drywall, painting, terminating electrical work, and that makes me so happy!

We need all the help that we can get in the construction industry, irrespective of gender. Love to see the increased participation by women.

I've seen the number of women in construction in our office more than double over the last 10-years. We stay involved with local high schools as well as Girl Scouts to inspire a new generation of girls to join the construction workforce.

As the generation of leaders moves from those currently retiring to the next generation, the opportunity for women should begin to grow exponentially. The Construction industry...the Meat industry...every industry that was built on a handshake and a gentlemen's agreement 40 or 50 years ago is now getting pulled into a world where numbers - statistics, KPI's, turnover rates - talk louder than a "gut feeling". And in the environment that business is moving towards, gender is meaningless.

Our company has one Super, one Project Manager and one Project Accountant that are women. After multiple supers ahve failed on one of our biggest projects, they placed our one female super in the position as she has preformed on other large jobs. Our female PM is our champion of our field production software and meets with us regularly to come up with ideas and training. I still believe that educating our younger women in the roles that are available with and without degrees is a vaible job oppurtunity. I think women in these work environments need to speak more in our schools so that young girls can see what these women can do in their carriers.
