The people are what make the industry and construction is an example of that not an exception. We need to foster a positive culture and grow as a whole.

Get the word and get the younger generation excited about the many great careers they can have in the industry. Attend high school career fairs and career days.

Reaching out to women in more ways to get them interested and involved, I think someone suggested going out to middle schools, I think that is a wonderful Idea.

I believe training is extremely important. To get respect you have to earn it. And for someone who knows what they are doing and talking about? Pretty easy to get the respect from your team, no matter who you are.

More training available to women who want to become more involved in the construction industry, not just the administrative level.

I think promoting the industry for women helps a lot but it needs to happen more. I feel like more women are going into the this industry more than before and that is amazing

Promoting and valuing women in the work force is necessary, but you also need to be your own advocate. You need to promote yourself and the skills that you have. If your currently company continues to push you down, look for a company that promotes within and seems to value diversity.
