No one should ever feel harassed in the work place. There should be a zero tolerance policy for this behavior. There needs to be confidentiality in reporting when harassment is happening in the work place.

Setting expectations for job site behavior starts in new hire orientation. We tell all of our hires what is expected, but the bottom line is simply to treat others the way you would want to be treated.

Lead by example, zero tolerance, what if it was your son/daughter?

There should be zero tolerance policies for this that are actually followed. I've seen a few places where harassment has taken place and it just kills morale, hurts productivity and can lead to safety issues because people can get apathetic, along with opening up the company to legal action. Just take care of your people and don't put up with harassment, it's the right thing to do anyways.

There shouldn't be a reason any one should be harassed specially at work.

Harassment should not be tolerated, and there needs to be confidentiality in reporting. Actions go unreported because of lack of trust that it will be confidential.
