In the long term I agree that Sustainability and profitability will go hand in hand... I believe companies are more attracted to construction companies that use sustainable building practices, which means contractors will adapt to give customers what they want.

We have already seen how building code can affect the sustainability of buildings. If you look at the building code in California over the last 15 years there have been massive changes to force the change towards sustainable buildings.

I think the best way to build conscientiously would be to utilize AI to assist with construction planning and efficiencies. We only get one Earth, responsible construction should be the ONLY type of construction!

Sadly, I think the affordability needs to be there for corporations to jump on board. Tax incentives, rebates, etc. would encourage developers, contractors and suppliers to use more sustainable practices and material.

Finding new ways to reduce waste increases profitability in the long run. This sometimes requires an upfront cost (like new machinery) but this decreases materials needed to be purchased, labor required and time spent to furnish the product
