With an extreme lack of skilled workers in the construction industry, there's never been a more important time to build a diverse and inclusive workforce. In this For Construction Pros article, they list some tips that could change the way women feel about careers in construction and attract them to our great industry. What are your thoughts?     We have a lack of skilled workers in general. Any way to bridge this gap needs to be reviewed.

    Promote vocational schools more and bring in speakers to schools to talk about careers in construction.

    It's difficult today, and with a big chunk of the construction workforce retiring soon, it's perfect timing to build a diverse and inclusive workforce.

    More awareness in the schools at an earlier age. Construction companies need to participate in career days and promote the business for men and women alike.

    There's a huge mostly untapped market that could certainly curb the shortage of skilled workers. Recruiting women at earlier stages is definitely a key.

    GBI is trying to change the stigma about working in construction and promoting the trades instead of degrees. You can make a good life for yourself.

    We need to find a way to make a career in Construction attractive to women. Different marketing approach will be needed than how we currently appeal to men. I don't have the answers, just the questions.
