How truly unfortunate that this is still an issue. I have heard the statement many times "that is how it is in construction" - but that shouldn't make it ok, and it certainly doesn't make it right! Change is always hard, but that doesn't mean it isn't worth doing. Education, persistence and accountability are key. Don't be afraid to stand up against harassment even if no one else around you is...that's when you are needed most!

Culture is defined by what leadership tolerates. Until the noise is eliminated and basic respect for others is required, change will not happen.

As an EEO officer for our company, and the impact of turnover in our industry, we are taking measures to mitigate workplace harassment by having team building meetings to engage workers to accept behavioral practices that lead to unity and acceptance in the workplace.

No one should ever feel uncomfortable at work and it should never be tolerated either.

Harassment should never be tolerated, in any industry! I appreciate the guidelines on prevention. Education can only help bring this subject to light.

No one should ever be harassed. I think the first step to prevent it is making it known that harassment will never be tolerated.

It is integral to ensure that no one should ever feel uncomfortable at work. Demonstrating that it will not be tolerated and making individuals aware of the repercussions from the beginning is important.

Harrasment in the Workplace, or any place for that matter, is unnecessary.
