What address solutions are you using for PLL cases if you're not using the GIS parcel?

We are in the process of migrating from Office to Respond. Currently, we use the land lookup table to populate the address field on a case, which is then reflected across all of our reports (e.g., permits, CO/CC, letters, etc.). However, Respond does not have access to the land table, and Trimble recommends associating a GIS parcel with each case instead.

This presents a challenge: In New York, the unique parcel identifier (SBL#) is assigned by the County. It’s not uncommon for new parcels to be without an SBL# when a building permit application is submitted. Because the SBL# is necessary to retrieve parcel details—such as the address—from Real Property Services, this creates a gap in our workflow.

We are therefore looking into alternatives to relying solely on the GIS parcel for address data.

There are also issues when it comes to commercial properties. A single parcel may contain multiple addresses—for example, different suites, businesses, or 911-assigned locations—which can’t be accurately captured through a single GIS parcel reference.

Has anyone else dealt with similar parcel data challenges? If so, we’d appreciate hearing what solutions you’ve implemented.

Thank you in advance for your input.
