We are working our way toward upgrading OS/SQL servers for our 15.8.8 instances. Our IT folks habit is to stand up new servers and move things from the old ones by either copying or doing fresh installs and configuring things correctly. We are jumping from W2016/SQL2016 to W2022/SQL2022. For the web application it seems to me like copying the site from old to new server and configuring IIS should do the trick so long as Crystal is pre-installed on the new server. Updates will be needed to some of the config files and internal settings for the application but...has anyone done this? Any argument against doing it this way and for doing a fresh, raw install of 15.8.8 on the new server?

Oh, one addendum, this is preliminary to going down the upgrade path to 23.x.

I kept thinking it should and, ahem, folks upline from me insisted no we must do fresh installs when we migrate. We have enough customizations that would be a serious pain so...I'm likely to do it this way anyway first. If it doesn't work, well, then I'll accept my fate and take the long path.

Russell, I checked with Mark, and he thinks your plan should work.
