GIS Map Label control question

A question from our City Cityworks technical team came up today. Does the GIS map/feature service dictate the map label that is seen on the Cityworks map (like hydrant numbers being labeled for hydrants)?  Is there some tool in the Cityworks Office Designer GIS settings that overrides the map/feature service labels? Someone on our team says that they set the map labels in the Cityworks Designer and that the GIS services somehow overrode those settings. I am 98% sure that the map labels ONLY come from the GIS map/feature serivce and that there is NO way to change that in the Cityworks Designer. Please help me confirm this or tell me I'm wrong. Thanks!

    Hi Matt,

There isn't a setting in Designer that would override the map/feature service labels. Cityworks just loads what's in the web map/map service/etc using the ESRI APIs.

If you are editing maps in ArcGIS Online or Portal, we recommend using the Classic Map Viewer in if you are using the Office map. The Classic Map Viewer matches up with the ESRI JavaScriptAPI 3.x used by Office and the New Map Viewer matches with the 4.x JS API used by Respond. We have seen these mismatches in version affect symbology and pop-up functionality, FYI.

    Thanks,

    Shanae
