    Thank you Chris,

Could I ask bend your ear for some clarifications?

How does Cityworks force users to update their password?

I was setting a new password policy in our test environment, and I didnt see any notifications for the test user account that had a weak password.

Also I noticed when I make new accounts, new passwords have to match the new password policy, but If a user is resetting their password, though the update window (see attached image), the password policy rules are not enforced. Am I missing a step or a configuration?"Capture"

It looks like I was mistaken. I confirmed with our developers that there isn't any flag to recognize existing passwords that do not match the new password policy. Is your screenshot from the Forgot Password option? I'm trying to remember what process gives that specific edit form.

Thanks for checking with your team, Thank you for the clarification on there not being a password flag.

Yes the screen shot is from the Forgot Password option. in my testing, when password rules were set, setting a password through the Forgot Password option did not enforce the password rules.

Are you all planning to upgrade to Cityworks 23 anytime soon? Because that install requires a fresh new site installation (no upgrade current site option), we have a process that will force users to update their passwords and at that time it would enforce any new password policies. The Password policy options are fairly new to Cityworks and enforcement of that was never linked to the forgot password process. Upgrading to 23 is the only way I can think of that would allow a user to change their password that would enforce the password policy. An Admin can change a user's password on the Employee screen in Designer and that enforces the policy, but that doesn't really help this situation. Not the most elegant answer but the only thing that would do what you are asking.

    Thanks for your response,

We are not in the near future looking at upgrading but I am sure we will get there eventually.

We dont get alot of password resets so we should be able to comunicate the requirements to the right people, but I noticed this wonkiness and appreciate the clarification.

Hey Frank. I completely forgot that we had a change password option in the user settings. If you instruct all of your users to click on User Settings (which is option that is shown when you click on your user name in the upper right hand corner), it will take them to user preference page. If they scroll down to the bottom there is a security section where there is a Change Password button. This option enforces the password policy.
