Server License

Hello,

If the license for Stabicad it is placed on a server in Gent and I'm accessing it from Bucharest, can cause latency/delay while modeling ? I noticed this happening when adding a new component from Stabicad Palette or when double click to enter in a component properties.

Probably this has nothing to do with the license of Stabicad, but with the latency from the client pc (in Bucharest) to the Database of Stabicad.

You can check the database details in Stabibase. StabiBASE > Tools > Database details. Behind "Server name", you will find the server and instancename of the SQL server instance.

You can Ping the servername via Windows command prompt. (or ask your sysadmin to do that).

If the latency is more than 15 ms (mostly it is while connecting to a server far away), you will have some latency while using Stabicad functions.  Latency > 15 ms is not supported. In that case we recommend to work with a local Database.

I've checke with IT, database is local already (see attachement), now that I have this confirmed and latency/delays still occurs, what might be a possible reason for that? Or this delays are normal to happen?

Then I think the database connection is not the problem. Delays can have multiple causes. Hard to say anything about it in general.  I would advise you to contact the(Stabiplan) helpdesk. You can use the button "Ask Support" to create a support case.
